Discoveries on my Walk

For Christmas, I bought two copies of Rip the Page! by Karen Benke, and gifted one to my awesome niece, Emma; the other is mine. I also gifted a commitment to Em: I'll work through the creative-writing exercises with her, and we'll share our words. Emma began with the list-of-lists prompt, which is a natural way to write a poem. She rocked her "How to Watch Soccer" poem. My creation is more subdued:

Discoveries on my Walk
Unbroken trails,
icicles,
bunnies racing from bushes,
snow-covered branches,
footprints,
light dancing on water,
children sledding,
birds nesting,
snowdrifts,
sunshine on my face,
numbness in my hands,
warmth in my heart.

  1. I wish you a heartwarming New Year, filled with many beautiful discoveries, on every level of life! May the transition from 2012 to 2013 be an unforgettable one: 2013 will be a very special year!
Thank you for mentioning the book: I didn't know it but it looks very attractive!
Loving the second photo: such a bright red and I love the repetition of it in the out of focus part.
    Hug from Belgium!

    1. Cococita: And I send those warm wishes right back to you! Thanks for your kind words about my winter-berry photo. I, too, loved the color and repetition. It will be fun to take Now You: 52 of You with you this year. Happy, happy new year!

    1. Thanks, Nina! I'm glad you stopped by. Yes! to the Art of Composition course. Walking around today I've spied so many lines, shapes, patterns, and contrasts. I love how photography opens my eyes and my mind.

  3. Have you ever tried to track those bunnies you saw? Used to do that in my youth. Should show you sometime.
